Lake Manyara, Tarangire and Ngorongoro Crater 3 Days Safari

After breakfast at your hotel, your guide will pick you up and drive you to Lake Manyara NP.  This impressive park is one of Tanzania’s most dramatically located wildlife areas, consisting of a massive but shallow soda lake (covering two-thirds of the park) at the foot of the Great Rift Valley’s western escarpment. There will be a picnic-style lunch at a designated area during the day. In the late afternoon, we will head to your evening’s accommodations.

After an early breakfast, we take you to Ngorongoro Crater where we descend 600m into this magnificent safari destination. This is one of the few places in Africa where in a few hours it is possible to spot all of the “Big 5”: rhino, elephant, buffalo, lion, and leopard.  After enjoying the crater tour with a picnic lunch near a pool of water frequented by hippos and flamingos we ascend out of the crater and drive to the town of Mto wa Mbu. Here we will go on a walking tour where you will get a glimpse of the local life here. Visiting a rice farm, banana farm, wood carvers, a local market, and others. You will observe how mbege (banana beer) is made and try it out. This village has a large mixture of tribes and you will learn about several of them. Afterward, we return to the same accommodations as the previous night.

After breakfast, we enjoy a game drive into Tarangire National Park with picnic lunch. The Tarangire National Park is reputed to contain some of the largest elephant herds in Africa. This park is also home to three rare species of animals – the greater kudu, the fringed-eared oryx, as well as a few ashy starlings. In addition to the variety of safari animals, the landscape dotted with giant baobab trees and enormous termite mounds is quite lovely. In the mid-afternoon, we will exit the park and return to Arusha/Kilimanjaro Airport/Moshi for the end of the safari.
