Tour Overview

On four days of your safari, you will visit Tarangire, Serengeti, and Ngorongoro. Herds of elephants will surprise you in Lake Manyara National Park.
The three destinations are quite different from each other and are all wonderful experiences. Tarangire offers scenery of giant baobab trees and termite mounds, a large number of elephants, and giraffes among the wide variety of animals present. What is lacking is rhino, but those are possible to spot in both Serengeti and Ngorongoro. The Serengeti is always a reliable destination. Especially Seronera (central Serengeti), where this itinerary takes us. The trip ends with a visit to Ngorongoro Crater. In addition to the beautiful backdrop of the 600m crater walls, the density of the animals present is very high.

Tarangire, Serengeti, and Ngorongoro Crater 4 Days Safari

Pick up from Moshi/Arusha in the morning and drive to Tarangire for game viewing. We will pause for a picnic-style lunch then continue game viewing until mid/late afternoon. At that time we will head to our accommodations for dinner and overnight rest. We have a long drive to Serengeti the next day, so we will shorten it by choosing accommodations near the town of Karatu which is along the route we must travel to Serengeti. This night will not be inside of a wild game area but the next two nights will give you that experience.

After breakfast, you will be heading towards the Serengeti NP, via the beautiful high lying farmland of Karatu and the Ngorongoro Conservation Area (NCA). We will pass through Ngorongoro, but not through the crater this day. Leaving the highlands behind, you will travel into the heart of wild Africa You will arrive in time for a picnic lunch and enjoy an afternoon game drive in the Serengeti.

After early breakfast, you will have morning game drive in the park while heading to Ngorongoro Conservation Area with packed lunch and game drive en-route. We will have a total of 24 hours in Serengeti, so we must, unfortunately, time our arrival at the NCA entrance before the time limit. Once inside the NCA, there are optional side trips (at extra cost). One is visiting a Maasai Village, and the other is visiting Olduvai Gorge Museum – the site of the paleoanthropological research of Drs. Louis and Mary Leakey. We head to our accommodations for the evening.

Enjoy an early breakfast then you will descend over 600 meters into the crater to view wildlife. This is one of the top safari destinations in the world, but it is not large, just 20km in diameter. So in 4 – 5 hours, all will be seen. There will be time for a picnic lunch at a designated spot near a pond frequented by hippos and flamingoes.
Afterwards we drive back to either Arusha/Kilimanjaro Airport/Moshi.
